Computer Models and the Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders
Introduce students to the use computational neuroscience modeling for understanding the mechanisms involved in different psychiatric disorders (e.g., anxiety, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder). In the context of computational models, we will then analyze behavioral interventions (e.g., exposure-based therapies) and pharmacological therapies (e.g., administration of haloperidol in the treatment of schizophrenia). Instructor consent required. One course / 3 units.
