Psychosocial Determinants of Health (A,S)
Provides an in-depth understanding of psychosocial determinants of health. Emphasis on the ways psychological factors interact with social, cultural, economic, and environ- mental contexts of health. Topics include impact of social integration, socioeconomic position, discrimination, health behaviors, and affective states on health outcomes. Students will gain competency through lectures, discussions, written work, and oral presentations. Prerequisite: PSY 104 or 105, Research Methods. Open to Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students. One course / 3 units.
