How has being a P&N graduate helped shape your professional success?

I am currently pursuing my PhD in consumer behavior at New York University, so the foundation that was set at Duke has been vital. I draw from my Psychology studies on a daily basis, and the rigor and comprehensiveness of the Duke curriculum has set me up to be successful. I am so grateful for the amazing professors and mentors I had at Duke — I would not be in the position that I am currently in without their support and guidance.

What advice would you give students in Psychology?

Studying Psychology at Duke is going to open a number of doors, and the number of potential career paths may be a little overwhelming! However, I'd advise students in Psychology to pursue a career that they are passionate about and that will help make the world a better place. A strong understanding of human Psychology is an extremely powerful tool that can either be used to do good or to do bad. I hope Duke grads will use their excellent training in Psychology to be a force for good in the world.
