Critical Race Psychology: Foundations and Applications of Critical Race Theory in Social Psychology

The goal of this seminar is to introduce students to the foundational ideas that inform applications of Critical Race Theory (CRT) to social psychology. In this course, we will discuss the connections and tensions between CRT and social psychological approaches to understanding racism and oppression. Through select readings and class discussion, this course will begin with the intellectual history of CRT in Social Psychology and conclude with current applications of CRT within psychological science.
