Corticotropin-releasing factor neurons of the lateral hypothalamus modulate binge-like ethanol intake

Thursday, May 7, -
Speaker(s): Dr. Sara Guarino
Dr. Guarino will discuss her research investigating the role of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) neurocircuitry in the modulation of binge-like ethanol consumption. Specifically, she will discuss her work combining transgenic mice, chemogenetic tools, and drinking in the dark (DID) procedures to explore CRF+ neural pathways arising from the LH and innervating efferent projection regions, including the ventral tegmental area (VTA), known to regulate stress and reward systems.
