2021 M&D Lab Summer Internship Program @ Yale University

The Mind and Development Lab (PI: Paul Bloom) explores a wide range of topics in developmental psychology. Some of our main interests include moral reasoning, religious and spiritual belief, and altruism. Interns will support the lab’s work through a variety of tasks including recruiting and running online child participants. Based upon research interests, all interns will be assigned to work with one or more “point people” (graduate student, post-doctoral researcher, or other staff member within the lab) and will work directly with them. For more information about our research, please visit our website.

Eligibility: Our internship program is open to currently enrolled undergraduates and graduates from the class of 2021 in psychology or allied fields seeking additional research experience. International students may apply.

Time commitment and payment: Our internship program requires a commitment of eight, full-time (37.5hr) weeks to be completed between May 24th and July 16th, 2021. Some weekend hours are required. All interns will receive a $4,000 stipend.

Application: To apply, complete this form. The form must be completed by March 18th 2021, 11:59 PM EST. No late applications will be considered.

Safety and COVID-19: This internship will be held remotely. While some tasks can be completed asynchronously, interns must be willing to run participants during regular business hours in the Eastern Daylight Time Zone for approximately 12 hours per week.

The Mind and Development Lab embraces a notion of intellectual community enriched and enhanced by diversity along a number of dimensions, including race, ethnicity and national origins, gender, sexuality, class, political orientation, and religion. We are especially committed to increasing the representation of those populations that have been historically excluded from participation in U.S. higher education and academia.
