Lab Manager / Lab Technician (Full‑time) Position @ Brain Recording & Cognitive Science (BRCS) Laboratory, Colgate University

The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences and the Neuroscience Program at Colgate University are seeking a full-time Lab Manager / Lab Technician for the Brain Recording & Cognitive Science (BRCS) Laboratory. This on-site position is based in Hamilton, New York and offers hands-on experience supporting cognitive science and neuroscience research.

Job Description:

The Lab Manager / Lab Technician will support research activities and day-to-day operations within the BRCS Laboratory. The role requires strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently with undergraduate research assistants and research participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily operations of the Brain Recording & Cognitive Science Laboratory
• Work closely with undergraduate research assistants and research participants
• Provide technical support for research activities and laboratory systems
• Assist with organization, coordination, and maintenance of lab procedures and materials
• Use programming and technical skills to support research workflows

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work successfully with undergraduate research assistants and research participants
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Technological proficiency and ability to learn new systems
• Experience or familiarity with computer programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Major in psychological science, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field
• Research experience with EEG, brain stimulation, eye-tracking, augmented reality, or virtual reality
• Experience with ASL or other signed languages

Salary/Compensation:

• Hiring wage range: $26.00–$28.00 per hour
