Lab Manager Position @ Rutgers University-Newark

The Child Study Center at Rutgers University-Newark, (http://www.childstudycenter-rutgers.com/) directed by Dr. Vanessa LoBue seeks a full-time lab manager. Dr. LoBue Start date is flexible, but on or before June 1, 2020 is highly desirable.

The primary role of the lab manager will be to work with local schools and community organizations to recruit participants and organize data collections. The lab manager will also be expected to play an active role in all stages of the  lab’s ongoing research projects, including 1) conducting experiments with infants, children, and adults in laboratory and school settings; (2) training and supervising undergraduate and graduate researchers; (3) administrative duties, such as daily record keeping, data management, equipment purchase, and maintenance of lab participant database; and (4) providing general support to researchers.

Preferred start date is June 1st (with some flexibility), with a 2-year desired commitment, further extendable depending on fit. 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience and knowledge of general principles and practices within a discipline and ability to use that knowledge for practical application. Administrative experience and experience working with children is preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, computer literacy, an ability to work independently, and an interest in development are a must. The applicant should be comfortable interacting with children of all ages, with undergraduate students, and especially with parents and community members. Fluency in Spanish is not required, but a plus.
