The Research Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the general operations in the lab and working alongside the PI (Dr. Allegra Midgette) to collect data, complete administrative tasks, and train all undergraduate research assistants. In addition, this position will recruit participants for studies, interviewing children and families, submit IRB applications, and maintain the lab website.
Required Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lifting and/or moving tables and other materials for recruitment events (not a requirement and with the help of other lab members)
Preferred Education and Experience:
Multilingual
Bilingual in Spanish and English or Mandarin and English
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with recruiting families and running participants in a lab or as a family visit
Experience conducting research in social psychology, developmental psychology, or a related field
Responsibilities:
Participant Recruitment & Screening: Conducts screening interviews for research participant and facilitates/aids in the recruitment of research participants.
Data Organization & Management: Responsible for developing and implementing processes to assist the lab with management of data for all ongoing studies.
Research Meetings: Attends lab research meetings and performs other duties to support lab projects.
