Now Accepting Applications: Mathematics, Reasoning, and Learning Lab (MRLab) @ Rutgers University - Newark

The Mathematics, Reasoning, and Learning Laboratory, directed by Dr. Miriam Rosenberg-Lee, seeks qualified candidates for a funded graduate position in the Department of Psychology at Rutgers University – Newark. MRLab does cutting-edge work at the intersection of neuroscience and education, currently focused on uncovering the neural basis of difficulties learning rational numbers, with a view to developing instructional approaches to improve mathematical outcomes. Students will have the opportunity to work on funded projects focused on real-world interventions to assess the role of executive functions in collaborative math learning (https://www.efmathprogram.org/mathematical-thinkers-like-me).  Candidates with backgrounds or interest in functional neuroimaging, longitudinal or intervention study design, cognitive development or educational research are strongly encouraged to apply.

Graduate students in the Department of Psychology typically receive funding for five years of study, which includes tuition waivers and stipends through a mix of fellowships and assistantships.
