Postbac Research Associate (Full‑time) Position @ Child Language Development Lab, Yale University

The Child Language Development Lab at Yale University is seeking a full-time Postbac Research Associate to support research on language and cognitive development. The position will be jointly supervised by Dr. Athulya Aravind (Department of Linguistics & Program in Cognitive Science) and Dr. Gabor Brody (Department of Psychology & Program in Cognitive Science).

Job Description:

The Postbac Research Associate will work closely with the PIs to coordinate and execute lab activities across multiple research projects. The role includes collaboration with postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers and provides substantial mentorship and professional development. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year. This position is ideal for individuals planning to pursue a PhD in linguistics, cognitive science, or psychology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support day-to-day research activities across multiple projects
• Collaborate with postdoctoral fellows, graduate researchers, and undergraduate students
• Assist with all stages of the research process, including study implementation and data management
• Support preparation of conference presentations and research dissemination
• Contribute to innovative research projects, with potential opportunities for co-authorship on publications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, psychology, cognitive science, or a related field
• Strong interest in language and cognitive development
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior research experience in language, cognition, or developmental science
• Interest in pursuing doctoral training

Salary/Compensation:

• $3800/month
