Project Coordinator Position @ UC Irvine

Project Coordinator in Irvine, CA - UCI (ttcportals.com)

The applicant will work closely with the PI for a federally funded project aimed to better understand how to support English learners’ literacy development during the early grades (K-3rd). Tasks for this project will include coding of classroom observations (literacy instruction), data collection (e.g., assessing students, recording classroom instruction) in partner schools, data entry and management, and assisting PI in supervising other project staff. This is a limited part-time position that will start in fall 2021. The position may be renewable pending satisfactory performance and continued grant funding. Reliable transportation is required to travel to and from off-site locations. Proof of immunizations (MMR, Tdap, and Flu) are required to go into the schools. Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferably in Psychology or Education).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.  
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others and to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, attention to detail, and to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to use a computer and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.

Preferred:

  • Spanish skills are preferred.
  • One or more years of research experience in a psychology, education, or related discipline.
  • Experience with data collection, cleaning, and analyses of education research data.
  • Experience with coding observational data.
  • Experience with (standardized) testing of typically developing children.
  • Experience with working with school-aged (K-3rd) children.
  • Statistics training and skills using Mplus, R, Stata, or equivalent statistics software

Special Conditions Required:

  • Occasional weekend or evenings required.
