Research Assistant Position @ Georgetown University, Washington DC

Closely supervised by the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Assistant works closely with the current Ph.D. student. The RA collects data alongside undergraduates, graduate and other research personnel to visit families in the field to collect data and on campus, and to collate data in a timely manner. The Research Assistant (RA) is involved in recruiting and testing participants for a grant funded study looking at learning in monolingual and bilingual young children. They receive training to run eye tracking and memory flexibility, studies and collect data in the field - and then collect data alongside undergraduates, graduate and other research personnel to visit families in the field to collect data and on campus, and to collate data in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Required qualification

  • BA/BS degree from a 4 year college

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience or combination of education and experience
  • Research experience working directly with young children
  • Spanish speaking skills - due to the DC metropolitan area’s growing Spanish speaking population and the fact that data are collected in the home and that the study examines differences between monolingual and bilingual children
  • Observational coding experience using datayvu software and excel
  • Current driver’s license
