The Psychiatry department and the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program at UNC-Chapel is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator. The ACRC will primarily contribute to the Social Motivation Study (SMS). The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator assists with the execution of study protocols, including screening and recruiting study participants, conducting study visits, and collecting, entering, and reviewing study data.
The Social Motivation Study (SMS) is a NIMH funded R01 investigating links between early childhood adversity exposure, social motivation, pubertal development, and preteen risk for self-injurious thoughts and behaviors. This is a longitudinal study that will enroll 200 preteen girls between ages 8-11 and follow them prospectively for 1-year. Participants will complete ecological momentary assessment (EMA) surveys, clinical interviews and questionnaires, a behavioral task assessing social motivation, and repeated saliva sampling to track pubertal hormone changes. Additionally, a sub-project will include a functional neuroimaging scan for a subset of girls. The successful candidates will contribute primarily to SMS but may also contribute to other mental health studies elsewhere in CHAAMP.
