Alison Papadakis, 2005

Associate Teaching Professor / Director of Clinical Psychological Studies, Johns Hopkins University

Professional Background

In my current position, I teach courses in clinical psychology and mentor undergraduate students who wish to pursue careers in clinical and applied psychology.  I lead the internship program and oversee the affiliate faculty who teach clinical and applied courses.  My research is focused on stress, coping, and psychopathology in adolescents and young adults.

How has being a P&N graduate helped shape your professional success?

I benefited from the breadth and depth of opportunities at Duke in the department, in the medical center, across the University, and through collaborations with neighboring universities including the Center for Developmental Science.  My Duke training grounded me well in psychology theory, research, and quantitative methods and also gave me the room to explore my interests with support.  That background and support inspired me to pursue an academic career.
