Being a Neuroscience graduate from Duke provided me with excellent support and preparation for medical school. The pre-med coursework was rigorous, the advising was welcoming and although I did not fully partake, there are plenty of research opportunities for those interested.
Don't be afraid to reach out to your professors for mentorship. Take advantage of all the opportunities available to you - but don't feel like you have to follow the crowd and do what everyone else is doing. Duke is a big place and you can write your story any way you want to. Be bold and take a random class you never thought you would - it may change the way you see the world or help you find a new passion.
