Majoring in Psychology at Duke has helped me develop into a better educator. When I am in the classroom, I can think about how to best teach my students using tools and information that I learned from my classes. I think about how children develop, the different mechanisms by which they learn, and how representing material in various ways can help my students achieve their potential. I am so grateful for the diversity of classes that were all offered through the Psychology department.
Even if you think you are certain about what you want to do in the future, take a wide array of classes in the Psychology department. Take advantage of all of the different types of classes Duke has to offer and don't be afraid to try something outside of your comfort zone.
