The Neuroscience program at Duke is interdisciplinary, and I had the opportunity to take classes from a wide variety of fields (including neurolinguistics, functional neuroimaging, and neurobiology, to name a few). This variety in courses was instrumental for me to further cultivate my interest in pursuing medicine as a career. Additionally, the research opportunities I had as a Neuroscience major, along with being able to complete an Honors Thesis during my senior year were major learning opportunities for me to get acquainted with research. Ultimately, I graduated from the Neuroscience program a stronger scientist and more enthusiastic and passionate about what I wanted to do with medicine in the future.
