Advanced Abnormal Psychology

PSY 213

An advanced course in the lifespan study of adult psychopathology. Lecture and readings emphasize psychological and neuroscience perspectives on disorders such as as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression and schizophrenia. Readings are primarily journal articles and other original sources. Topics also include the logic of diagnostic systems, methodological and ethical issues in psychopathology research, integration across levels of analysis, and translating research findings into effective interventions.
