Full-Time Project Coordinator, COVID, Family Conflict and Parent-Child Relationships

Study Description: 

The project coordinator will oversee a follow-up longitudinal study designed to examine how COVID-19 impacted family functioning including conflict and parent-child relationships and children over the early elementary school years. Funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, this study will employ multiple methods (e.g., observations, semi-structured and clinical interviews, surveys) and levels of analysis (e.g., computer assessments, salivary and cardiac measures of stress reactivity) to assess family and child functioning.  

Responsibilities:  

● Managing the research team – including hiring, coordinating, and supervising full-time and part-time research assistants 

● Organizing recruitment and scheduling of a diverse sample of families through multiple community agencies 

● Developing and revising measures and procedures for data collection 

● Overseeing training and assisting with the implementation of data collection procedures involving observations, interviews, surveys, physiological assessments, computer tasks 

● Developing and implementing data management and cleaning procedures 

● Compiling progress reports for agencies and ethical review committees 

Basic Qualifications:  

● Bachelor’s degree in psychology or allied discipline (GPA: 3.4 or higher) 

● At least one year of experience working in research labs in psychology, human development, or related field 

● Comfort interacting with children and families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds 

● Ability to effective lead a research team  

● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills 

● High motivation and interest in family and child development 

● Ability to successfully engage community agencies, young children, and families 

● Attention to detail and outstanding tracking and record keeping skills 

● Computer skills; including knowledge of PC operating systems, basic statistics software (e.g., Excel, SPSS), and data collection software (e.g., Medialab, Matlab) 

● Availability for a two-year commitment starting in the Summer 2021 

● Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends 

Preferred Qualifications: 

● One-year, post-bachelor experience in a research lab in psychology or related field 

● Basic knowledge of computerized assessments and salivary, and psychophysiology (i.e., RSA) measures 

● Experience with management and coordination of research studies
