Full-time Research Analyst and Project Manager @ Duke University

Position Summary: Dr. Lisa Gennetian, Pritzker Professor of Early Learning Policy Studies at Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy seeks a full-time technical analyst and project coordinator to support the Baby’s First Years study, the first randomized control longitudinal study of unconditional monthly cash transfers to low income mothers of infants in the U.S.  Dr. Gennetian is looking for a candidate with data analytic and project management experience working with primary data collection, managing survey sample contact and retention, familiarity with text based data platforms, and data programming and processing skills. The individual will also help support overall study management and project coordination. Training in field survey design, implementation and data processing, and expertise in R, STATA or comparable data programming is a plus. Prior experience with random assignment and intervention design and research is also a plus.

Responsibilities:

· Project management of the Baby’s First Years study at Duke, including management of sample retention, maintaining updated contact information, and strategies for passive and active approaches to stay in touch with the sample

· Co-coordinate and manage key data related tasks across scholars and principal investigators

· Lead text-based rapid-pulse data collection

· Process and manage sample retention and text-based data

· Support analyses of data

· Contribute to analytic and written tasks

Qualifications:

· BA, BS ideally with at least two years of experience or Masters or comparable degree in economics or public policy.  Pre-doctorates are eligible.

· Excellent English written and oral communication skills; high level of attention to detail.  Spanish proficiency is a plus.

· Experience with collecting primary data and/or experience analyzing survey data from parents or caregivers of children.

· Statistical programming with R, and/or STATA

· Basic knowledge and comfort with tabling statistics

Salary is commensurate with experience.
