Global Mental Health Programs at Columbia University is hosting its eight-week, virtual summer internship for rising seniors. (View flyer for additional information.)

Required Application Materials

1. Writing Sample [500 word maximum]: Our program is open to students from a wide range of majors and fields of study. Please submit a writing sample (e.g. part of an academic assignment, essay, or research paper) in any topic that demonstrates your ability to write and synthesize information in a coherent and professional manner.

If possible, we encourage you to submit a writing sample that demonstrates your ability to write with academic citations and references (e.g. APA, MLA, or any similar citation style). Although writing with academic citations may not be required for your specific project during the internship, there is a possibility that this may be asked of you. If this is the case, we will also support you in developing this skill as part of our internship program.

Lastly, please ensure that your writing sample is able to be read and reviewed without requiring additional context or information.

2. Statement of Interest [500 word maximum]: Please share with us your interest in global mental health, what you'd like to gain from participating in the summer internship program, and any unique experiences, strengths, or skills that you may bring as an intern.

3. Resume: Please upload a 1-2 page resume in PDF format, with file named entitled "LastName_Resume"

4. Professional Reference: Please provide the name and email address of a reference who can speak to your abilities in an academic setting. If your application moves forward to the interview stage, your reference will be notified to complete a brief reference form.
