Applications are being accepted for fall 2021 for the Health Behavior and Health Education graduate program at the University of Texas at Austin. Health Behavior and Health Education is situated in a top ranked College of Education with a focus on three key signature impact areas: Advancing Equity and Eliminating Disparities, Attending to Place and Context, and Thriving through Transitions. The HBHE programs emphasize multidisciplinary, bio-behavioral and developmental approaches to health promotion, and we welcome students from a broad range of backgrounds. The faculty conducts research in risk and resiliency, child, adolescent, and emerging adulthood health, substance use prevention, migration & health, Prevention Science, sexual health, parenting & family relationships,  racial/ethnic health disparities, physical activity, obesity prevention. Most students who earn a master’s degree pursue applied careers, working with people in a variety of settings including health-related organizations, worksites, and schools, while some students continue on for a doctorate. Students who earn a doctoral degree pursue academic or research careers. Deadline for priority funding opportunities is December 1. More than 90% of our students receive funding, through fellowships, teaching assistantships, and/or graduate research assistantships.
