PhD @ Child Study Center, Rutgers-Newark

The Child Study Center at Rutgers University—Newark, directed by Dr. Vanessa LoBue, is recruiting graduate students interested in a psychology PhD for the Fall of 2022.

Dr. LoBue and members of the Child Study Center at Rutgers University are interested in the development of infants and young children in multiple domains, including emotional, cognitive, and perceptual. Our research program focuses on the development of children's behavioral responses to threatening stimuli, including social threats like angry faces, non-social threats like snakes and spiders, and biological threats like germs. Our recent work has a particular focus on the cognitive and perceptual mechanisms underlying children's responses to threatening stimuli and how these responses might predict the development of later emotional behavior.

Graduate students in the Department of psychology typically receive funding for five years of study, which includes tuition waivers and stipends through a mix of fellowships and assistantships. For more information about applying to our graduate program overall, please visit our webpage: https://sasn.rutgers.edu/academics-admissions/academic-departments/psychology/graduate-program-psychology. Applications are due on December 1.
