Alma is a rapidly growing program, developed by a collaborative team of researchers, community members, clinicians, and mothers who have personal experience with depression, to support women experiencing depression during pregnancy and the postpartum. Alma employs an innovative approach to perinatal depression in which a team of trained peer mentors—mothers who have faced depression in their own lives and want to support others who are struggling—deliver the Alma program to members of their own community.
