Research Assistant Position @ Georgetown University

The Lab Manager/Research Assistant 2 is engaged in recruiting and testing participants for a grant funded study looking at learning in monolingual and bilingual young children.

They will be trained to run eye tracking and memory flexibility studies, to collect data in the field, and to work on the collaborative PLAY study.

Once trained, they collect data alongside undergraduates, graduate and other research personnel to visit families to collect, collate and code data in a timely manner.

Work interactions:

Closely supervised by the Principal Investigator (PI), the Lab Manager/Research Assistant 2  works closely with the current Ph.D. student and participates in team meetings. 

Qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college

Preferred Qualification

  • Observational coding experience using DataVu software and Excel
  • Current driver’s license
  • Prior research experience working directly with young children
  • Spanish speaking fluency due to the DC metropolitan area’s growing Spanish speaking population and the fact that data are collected in the home and that the study examines differences between monolingual and bilingual children
