Research Assistant Position @ Purdue University

Dr. Catherine McBride at Purdue University seeks to hire a research assistant starting as soon as May 2023. This is a 100% position and is for one year or longer. The position will be based at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of research in literacy development in children from participant recruitment to data analysis to presentation of research findings in seminars and conferences. Preferred qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in psychology, Human Development and Family Studies, Speech, Language, and Hearing Science, or related fields.
• A minimum of 0 to 1 year of research experience.
• Ability to work in-person on Purdue's main campus in West Lafayette, IN.
• Skills:
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to support researchers, handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate to build relationships with individuals at all levels within the lab.
  • Ability to provide basic assistance to researchers in manipulating, computing, and analyzing data
