Research Associate @ The Bizzell Group

The Bizzell Group (Bizzell), one of the fastest growing companies in America, is seeking a part-time Research Associate to support the firm’s Federal Government client on a time-limited research project in a collaborative, positive and fast-paced work environment. This position will play a critical role in a qualitative public health research assignment specific to issues impacting diverse populations across the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with a Principal Investigator, Project Director, and the qualitative research team on a Federal contract research project
  • Take clear, detailed, and accurate notes during in-depth interviews (IDIs) with research participants
  • Develop customized coding schematic using NVivo (or similar CAQDAS tools), including inductive and deductive approaches to generate variables to be used in inferential analysis
  • Organize and enter IDI notes into NVivo to strategically analyze data, identity themes, and garner insights
  • Analyze IDI outputs, identify trends, and write detailed reports to include charts, diagrams, tables, and other data visualization assets
  • Identify issues during data collection and analysis, and propose solutions

Required Skills:

  • Must have working knowledge of and demonstrated experience with various qualitative research and analysis methodologies
  • Must have experience in a research environment, including conducting/supporting focus groups and/or IDIs and deploying surveys, polls, questionnaires, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of informed consent and research participant confidentiality
  • Must have demonstrated experience with NVivo (or similar CAQDAS tools)
  • Must have demonstrated experience with report writing and data visualization tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with federal clients, particularly the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or other health and public health agencies
  • Experience working in a management consulting firm or agency (preferred)
  • Previous health, public health, and/or social sciences research experience (preferred)
  • At least two years of experience in a research environment, including demonstrated experience with NVivo (or similar CAQDAS tools) to code and analyze qualitative data
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to engage and work with diverse populations
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in analysis and writing
  • Demonstrated skill in project management, time management, and problem-solving
  • Experience using virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, Webex, RingCentral)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Statistics coursework (preferred)
