Research Fellow Position [Part-time] @ Boston University

Boston University is hiring a Research Fellow to be located in Multnomah County, Oregon to help provide technical support for teachers on how to collect video observation data in Preschool for All programs between February - June 2025. Paid (virtual) training will be provided. Positions are part-time and temporary. Schedules are flexible, but Research Fellow must be available during some school day hours to provide technical support. Research Fellow will be paid $25 per hour. 

Requirements:

Minimum 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • Access to reliable transportation is an essential function of this job. 

Preferred 

  • Professional and personal experience with early childhood education settings, ethnic/racial minority children and/or being bilingual/bidialectal is a plus. Applicants from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit local preschools for video data collection through phone calls and email outreach. 
  • Instruct teachers and site leaders on how to effectively record and upload videos to designated platforms. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for site leaders, teachers, and families regarding any questions or issues related to video recording and uploading. 
  • Maintain regular contact with site leaders and coaches via phone, email, Zoom, or in-person meetings to ensure clear guidance is provided to teachers for video recording. 
  • Ensure each site has the necessary video recording tools and that teachers have access to all required resources to produce high-quality videos. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video recording and uploading. 
  • Travel to local preschools to provide in-person guidance and technical support, ensuring teachers and site leaders are well-equipped to record and upload videos efficiently. 
  • Track the number of videos recorded and uploaded at each site, ensuring all sites are actively collecting and submitting videos as needed. 
  • Code videos using the ACSES Framework designed by Stephanie M. Curenton.
