Professional Background

After graduating from Duke, I moved to Columbia Business School to complete a postdoc in Decision Making and Negotiations. Since 2015, I've been a professor of marketing at Temple University's Fox School of Business, applying neuroscience methods and concepts to consumer behavior.

How has being a P&N graduate helped shape your professional success?

Duke's interdisciplinary focus shaped my research trajectory. I'm a neuroscientist in a business school, which at first may seem a bit odd. However, training at Duke with faculty in the psychology department, the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, and Fuqua taught me that different disciplines bring different strengths and perspectives to studying behavior. This gave me a unique opportunity to appreciate how combining theories or methods from distinct fields could inform issues that span traditional disciplinary boundaries. My work now incorporates neuroscience methods and theories to address questions in consumer decision making.
