Clinical Psychology and Mental Health

This course provides a broad overview of clinical psychology and mental health. Areas of focus include: Reviewing different theoretical perspectives for conceptualizing adaptive and maladaptive behaviors, emotions, cognitions, and experiences; Approaches to the diagnosis and assessment of mental health and psychopathology; Major classes of psychopathology including how they are defined and treated; Current research in the field of clinical psychology and mental health. There is a research participation requirement for this course. Recommended prerequisite: Psychology 101 strongly recommended.
