The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience welcomes Cristina Salvador, PhD as its newest faculty member, beginning fall of 2021.
Salvador’s research centers around understanding how culture (a set of meanings and practices that make up daily realities we face) interfaces with biology to influence our thinking, feeling, and behavior. She analyzes the influence of culture at multiple levels, including the brain, everyday language use, implicit measures, and big data.
Salvador shared her excitement about joining the Duke faculty by stating: “I am most excited to be part of the Duke community with great colleagues, staff, and students. I am looking forward to the opportunities to discuss ideas, form new collaborations and conduct interdisciplinary research in psychology and neuroscience. I also look forward to being part of the larger research triangle and Durham community!”
