Neuroimaging Research Assistant Position @ Solomonov Lab, New York, NY

Yhe Solomonov Lab at the Weill Cornell Department of Psychiatry is looking for a skilled and highly motivated Research Assistant specializing in neuroimaging. They are an interdisciplinary collaborative team working within the exciting intersection of computational and clinical neuroscience and clinical psychology.

Job descriptions: 

The candidate will participate in randomized controlled trials of psychotherapy for mid- and late-life depression and postpartum depression. The candidate will assist in analysis of datasets spanning clinical, behavioral, and neuroimaging modalities. This position is ideal for a candidate who is interested in pursuing doctoral studies in neuroscience, clinical psychology or medical school later on. The position requires a 2-year commitment, full time in-person at our lab, located at 1300 York Avenue, New York, with possibility of some remote days.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of previous research experience preferred. Coding and data analysis experience required. This could include:
    • Experience with behavioral and MRI data collection and techniques.
    • Programming and data analysis skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, Bash, etc.)
    • Experience in developing and implementing scripts and algorithms for neuroimaging data processing and statistical analysis (e.g., in MATLAB, Python, R, Bash).
    • Functional and structural neuroimaging data analysis experience; proficiency with resting-state, task-based, and/or tractography-based neuroimaging software packages (FSL, Freesurfer, SPM, AFNI, DSI Studio).
    • Ability to independently preprocess and analyze fMRI data.
  • BA/BS in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
